Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is the sixth game in the Call of Duty first-person shooter series. It was developed by Infinity Ward and released on November 10, 2009. It is a best-selling game and has received very high scores on review sites such as Metacritic and IGN, especially for its multiplayer mode.

This game is based off of the hidden special ops in present day warfare. In single player key characters are Sgt. Foley, Pvt. Allen, Pvt. Ramirez, Roach, Ghost, Cpt. Price, Soap A.K.A Cpt. Mactavish, General Shepard, Cpl. Dunn, and Makarov.

Sgt. Foley, Pvt. Allen, Cpl. Dunn, and Pvt. Ramirez are part of the Rangers unit; while Roach, Ghost, Cpt. Price, and Soap are the characters from Task Force 141 which is controlled by GEN. Shepard.

The main idea is World War III: During an undercover op, Pvt. Allen and Makarov kill everyone in a Russian airport, but when escaping, Makarov kills Allen and the Russians think America did it, so they launch an attack. Washington D.C. is getting ripped to shreds and the Rangers have to take back the White House and help rescue civilians while TF141 tries to find Makarov so Russia will know that it was his op that was based to kill civilians. Thus, the objective of the game is to end WWIII and get Makarov.

There are two parts to single player: the campaign and special ops. Special ops are a series of mini-games that occur either during the campaign or are just a skill test.

In multiplayer you verse other players in games such as team death match, free for all, domination, search and destroy, and several other game modes. Team based games usually consist of Navy Seal, TF141, Rangers, Spetnaz, and Militia teams.

All of the maps, except for those found in the expanded map packs, are from the campaign, such as the map Terminal which is from the campaign level No Russian. The full list of maps excluding expansion packs are: Rust, Terminal, Skidrow, Wasteland, Derail, Sub Base, Scrapyard, Invasion, Quarry, Karachi, Highrise, Favela, Estate, and Afghan.
