New Hope for the Star Wars Series

By nation Buccolt December 9, 2015

Back in 2005, many avid Star Wars fans believed that their beloved series had concluded. Episode III had brought everything back to the first film and things seemed to be wrapping up in the series. However, many fans have a renewed excitement following the announcement that an episode VII would be released in December of 2015. "How is this possible?" you may ask. Well, thanks to Disney, who purchased Lucas Arts in 2012 for $4.05 billion, the series will live on for "many years to come."

Star Wars: The Force Awakens

This new movie will be set 30 years after the Battle of Endor and the events portrayed in Return of the Jedi. This is also a perfect cover to account for the noticeable age difference in the original cast; characters such as Luke, Leia, and Han.

Luke, Leia, Han - then and now

The title of this groundbreaking movie is Star Wars: The Force Awakens. In a surprising deviation from titles of past films in the series, the official title notably does not include "Episode VII" as many had expected. This could be due to the fact that the title is symbolic to something more than even the plot line of the movie. Many hint that it could be a representation of a revival of the series and of the Star Wars franchise as a whole. Honestly, it could be a message sent out to reassure the fans of the bright future of movies ahead.

That being said, surely they had something to back that up with? Surely Disney could lend the fan a hand in luring them into this exciting new reality. They did this and much more when they released their first trailer.

Now, as you can see, clearly the movie will have a much higher quality of visuals than in recent years. This excites a lot of fans as many feel previous movies didn't have the potential of capturing the pure awesomeness of Star Wars within the current capabilities of its time. Many are assured now that that will not be an issue following the teaser trailer.

Have we finally found a movie that can live up to the high expectations of its fans? Can Kylo Ren live up to the high expectations that Darth Vader, The Emperor, Darth Maul, and other iconic characters have set for a villain? Well, Star Wars fans, soon we shall all find out. May the force be with you.

Nice post, but why did you use the teaser instead of the actual trailer? XD
